Jubilee UK Nationals
Blenheim Palace 1998
6-9
July 1998. Fifty years after the first Morris Minor was first
shown to the public at The Earl's Court Motor Show in London,
well over 2000 Minors gathered in the beautiful grounds of Blenheim
Palace in the UK. It was the largest gathering of Morris Minors
anywhere in the world - EVER!
Here's
some pics to try and give you a feel for what it was like. There
are lots of individual car pics that I have put on the other
Gallery pages - these are just the general pics. The white Traveller
in the pics, 'Moose', was acquired just the day before. We spent
most of Saturday just scouring the trade stands for new chrome
bits, a nice chrome-spoke steering wheel and a new horn button.
All of which were found, plus a whole lot more - models, pictures,
spares, photos, old friends ...
The
sight of Morris Minors everywhere was simply wonderful - they
were in the main field, in the campground and in the local villages.
If you weren't at Blenheim Palace in 1998 then I'm afraid you
missed the biggest and probably the best Morris Minor event
ever to be held.
