1958 Saloon. It has a
Chevrolet S-10 front suspension and a narrowed 8 3/4"
Chrysler rear end and 4-link suspension with coil over
shocks. I am putting a 440 cubic inch big block Chrysler
engine and automatic transmission in it. I am putting
a full roll cage in it and making it a pro street type
car. I plan to make the engine around 700 to 800 horsepower.
I am leaving the outside of the body pretty much stock
except for lowering it some and the wheels and tires.
The floor pans were pretty rusty but the rest of the
car is in good shape. This worked out fine for me because
am cutting it all out anyway. There are not many Morris
Minors in this part of the country, I own 3. The other
two are in worse shape than this one. |

'54 2-Door. It started out with a 1 litre Suzuki
motor and 5 speed. It now has a 4.3 T.B.I. computer
controlled Chevy V6 with a 200R4 overdrive automatic.
It's mounted on a lenghthened Suzuki Samurai 4x4 frame.
The 4WD was working fine with the Suzuki motor, but
when it blew and I put in the V6 I had no room for
the transmission case. I hope to get the 4WD working
over the winter. It has 235Rx15 tires at the moment.
I have room for 33's but that won't happen for a while.
The body is stock with the exception of '39 Ford tail
lights and custom bumpers. I used all the Suzuki gauges,
steering column and brake assembly.

2-Door, with ex- Fiat
Abrath works engine (bigger, longer valves, higher lift,
bigger porting and less compression). I just got hold
of a 1GG supercharger off the Toyota 2ltr V6. This runs
the same housing as the Toyota MR2 one but is flowed
much better with tighter built vanes in it. With a smaller
pulley it should be happy running 12-15psi boost but
being flowed should be alot more efficent. So with the
right injection set up, four in the manifold one before
the supercharger we are expecting somewhere around the
400bhp mark. Currently Ihave the engine in the car running
two twin side draught 45mm Webers. Because of the fact
that it is a two door no engineers are even game to
enginer it with the blower fitted so I am getting it
on the road unblown for the time being. Currently the
engine has a little over 225bhp with the Webers. I am
currently arranging to have the car engineered to be
blown, but the engineer wants me to run it as is for
a while to see how it gos and then put a full roll-cage
in it and he will be satisfied. |

people who have done this & get ideas & so on. |

`69 pickup. It has (will
have?) a mid mounted 1600 CVH engine. This is modified
with a Pace turbo kit and series 2 water cooled turbo.
This was going under the bonnet with a type 9 gearbox
but as the suspension had to be moved and a new chassis
built Idecided to put it in the pickup bed, transverse
on its original box. I have 2.8 Capri front suspension,
vented discs and an Escort Mk.II quick rack and pedal
box. The body is all steel with the stepside arches.
Hopefully I shall unbolt the body and drop it on the
new chassis soon (sounds so easy !). Any hints, help,
men in white jackets much appreciated. |

Split Screen with an
1800 engine, twin carbs, four speed overdrive 'box and
back axle from an MGB, and it goes like the proverbial.
Marina discs, larger back drums, lowered supension all
round, three inches either side wider rear wings and
no bumper, Wolfraces (very eighties!) and a cute sunvisor.
And, of course, poser blue light spotlights, bonnet
debadged and smoothed, Hillman Imp back indicators on
the front, built in side lights, and soon a decent stereo
arrangement to make sure they can hear me if they don't
see me. |

My pick-up ain't finished
yet but it has got a Mk1 Ford Escort 1600cc engine,
Ford Cortina 2000E racing gearbox, Austin A60 back axle,
Jaguar brake servo, Mercedes tail light clusters, home
made body kit, phat tyres imported from California,
bucket seats, blacked out windows, and today I bought
a TR4a chrome fuel filler cap but in the end it will
be sprayed in a mental colour of my choice, have a Morris
Marina front disc brakes conversion, and finally it
will have the biggest ICE install this planet has ever
seen but thats miles away! The picture is shit but it
was taken in January 2000. |

1970 Minor Van. Now has
a 1275cc A+ Marina engine with a Toyota 5-speed gearbox
to a standard diff (still alive after 10 years of (ab)use).
MG midget front discs and Hillman Hunter booster, standard
rear drums all running better pads and linings. Front
telescopic shocks, lowered all round approx 2 1/2".
15" x 6" front & 16" x 7" rear NZ
Motoform Sekta wheels (similar to Peugeot 205GTI style)
with 195/50x15" & 205/45x16" Toyo Proxe tyres.
Interior has two Autosport racing seats with small Momo
wheel and gearlever using a Ford Laser steering column
and switchs etc. Rear van area carpeted grey. Body mods
extend to shaved badges, front spoiler, rolled guard
lips, no door suage lines, no chrome - all powder coated
black or body colour, painted metallic pearl blue from
a Nissan. I am looking at upgrading to a 1.8 (VVC) K

extensive mods to brakes, suspension and interior. |

Great Aunt Betsey is
a 2-door saloon with a 1300 MG Midget engine and gearbox,
Stage III unleaded head, fast road cam, 1 3/4" HIF 44

[there is a point to it, it just hasn't got any if you

telescopic front shockers, comfortable seats, halogen
headlamps, dash mounted dip switch [from an E-Type Jag]
and flasher, heated rear screen, door pockets and inertia
reel seat belts. Future plans include a 5 speed gearbox,
Minilite wheels, rear telesopic shocks, and a screen
demister that works. |

When I get it next month, it's also getting a set of
Minilite mag wheels, stiffer torsion bars, a lowering
of about an inch and some decent (period) bucket seats
and harnesses. At the moment, it looks totally stock,
but it's good for 100+mph ... pretty funny on the motorway,
especially if my grey-haired mum is driving. |

At the moment my Moggie
('Felicity' to friends and family) is pretty a much
standard 'C'-reg (1965) Morris Minor 1100. The only
modifications have been the addition of an alarm/immobiliser,
improved brakes and electrics. Future plans: K-series
1.4 engine, 5-speed gear-box, improved brakes. New wheels.
Paint job. I'm planning to have her resprayed a very
dark blue and have dragons painted on her in silver.
By the time she's done, purists will take one look and
have heart-failure (I hope), although she'd only be
worth about 5 points on your scale. I believe that cars
are meant to be used on a daily basis, not shut away
in a garage for most of the year. I admit that I've
neglected Felicity, mainly because my route to work
for some time involved motorway driving (M5 to Birmingham),
and she's just not up to it in her present state. The
changes will bring her back into regular use, bless
her! |

My car is a 1962 4 door,
in Highway Yellow (original but no one believes me).
Its lowered all round it has an anti roll bar, 1 1/2"
SU carb and pancake filter, knackered exhaust (the LCB
manifold is still in the garage...), lots of patches
and filler, 'well used' interior (most of which is in
my wardrobe!) and it goes like stink with me driving...
Oh and it has all red indicators (produced between trafficators
and those nasty orange jobs...). It has a boot rack
(for carrying around my period style suit cases for
taking the piss at shows) and finally theres a massive
stereo (which again is in my bedroom as I blew it up...
it's the thought that counts...). I'd give it a rating
of 4. |

One owner 1955 Series
2. However when I inherited it with 30,000 miles on
the clock my wife's granny had managed to stuff the
engine(being an 803 it had a headstart) tranny and diff.
It now has 70,000 on clock, an 1100, later gearbox,
tallest diff (except for a ridiculously expensive Midget)
and 215's. 14 years, one flat tyre and a minor electrical
smoke-up behind the dash, not bad really. I get pissed
off in the winter with no heater and wipers that don't
really do anything. The handling gets me down at times,
it also gets me into trouble! From some stuff I saw
on the Minor Mania! site I thought I'd have a go at
some real shockies next week. I hope this qualifies
me for BMC consideration, I'm also a bastard myself. |

We are planning to be
worthy of inclusion in the BMC. Have just (Sunday) bought
a Traveller and are in the process of stripping it down.
Are looking for a suitable donor car to rob all modern
bits including engine. Final vehicle will probably be
a 6, but will definitely include uprated heating/insulation,
plus big stereo, big engine and colourful paint job.
Looking for ideas and recommendations on donor vehicle.
We think the BMC's a brilliant idea! |

I currently have a 1967 saloon (known as Gwen) so
far I have changed the brakes for marina discs, gutted
the inside and put some nice leather celtic work on
the door panels, and a full range of tim superdash
dials so I can see exactly what that engine is doing!
When I bought her she had a 1300 Toyota Starlet engine
on board but I will be changing that to a 1300 MG
Metro Turbo engine just as soon as I have put spax
ajustables all the way round!
For wheels I would like to get ridiculously wide at
the back; Mickey Thompson's (that's road drag tyres
for those who don't know) at least 20 inches of width
each, these would sit nicely on centreline auto drag
wheels.
For body work I will be binning any unnecessary trim,
smoothing of the boot and solanoiding the lock. I
would also like to put an external sun visor on (so
if anyone has one they don't want?). The rear bumper
and front valance have already gone and the front
wings have been extended to fit nicely, the only other
thing I would like to do is take off the rear arches
and remount them 2 inches higher up (this will give
it a more evil stooped look and will go with the sun
visor idea) finish it all in matt black and hey presto
a lovely fast good looking minor!!!!!

My beast may not yet be turning 15sec 1/4 miles (or
even 1 min 1/4 miles) but i'm on my way...
She is a 1965 almond green 2 door saloon 1098cc, reg
no GWP831C. She has a big valve gas flowed head (Mini
1000s), 1 3/4 carb (Metro), water heated inlet manifold,
and a soon to be fitted fast road cam with belt drive.
She also has a cartridge oil filter and an alternator.
Behind the sports wheel (Mini again) I have a Smiths
oil pressure guage and water temprature guage and
a rev counter (not working).
Being a student its taking a while due to financial
restraints and the fact that my mum disagrees with
the idea of taking out every student loan available
in order to make my car a two litre. She'll learn...
My aim is to make her into a fast car with as few
external differences as possible. A 2 litre 16v engine
from a Rover 600 is my preferred choice. The same
engine with a turbo is also freely available and very
tempting. I think the handling and brakes may need
upgrading before 180+bhp is applied to her. Having
said this my impulsive nature may lead me to put a
Rover v8 inside her (300+bhp).
Either way the boy racers in my area are in for a
surprise....

It all started some 15 years ago when my father pointed
out that my new tyres were not true "crossply"
M orris ones and I was in danger of becoming a "bit
of a bastard". Since then I've added disc brakes,
wider wheels, heated rear window, bucket seats, halogen
headlights, hazard flashers, telescopic shocks, inertia
seatbelts and a radio.
As I am sure you are aware, the car still looks and
sounds pretty much the same as any old Moggy 1000
yet the classic car buffs dismiss me and and was hoping
for some recognition amongst yourselves as a "Minor
bastard" for which I would be more than happy
to purchase a T-shirt and wear it proudly to every
morris gathering in SE England.

Wolf in sheeps clothing:- 2 litre Fiat twincam with
various improvements + super unleaded only, competition
parts, complete rebuild etc. Independent rear suspension
modified Ford XR4i rear with telescopic shocks.
(Modified boot interior to accommodate).
New front end (modified XR4i again). Inc anti roll
bar etc. Large wheels front and back. Vented disk
brakes (servo). Uprated chassis to handle power +
new tunnel etc. New instrument display. New front
seats. Noise level = Ear plugs required and tunnels
best avoided!
Shorter list is what is standard: It looks standard
- The body shell still looks the same. The wipers
havent been modified, the speedo is still there.
Rear seats are original. Everything else changed.
Current project time:- 4 Years. Expected time of
completion another 2 years, but driving whilst
working.
Bonus:- Car looks an absolute piece of rubbish (no
paint job yet will be standard). Have lugs
welded on wheels so original hub caps go back on.
Looks standard (unless you look closely or come up
behind it), but shifts and handles like a dream. Most
fun car Ive ever driven.
Whats next: Fix my cooling issue (gets very
hot very quickly). Widen the front end by 4 inches
(2 inch insert between each front wing and body
including hidden air scoops). New exhaust system
4 straight through (2 each side). Interior and paint.
