Today I agreed to rent a new house. This one is way too small for 2 adults and 3 young kids. The new one is 3 doors down the road, and has 5, yes five bedrooms (a real rarity in Brookwood!) but it doesn't have a garage, only a carport Mind you, the garage I've got is friggin useless - when it rains the water floods in through the doors, up to 2 inches deep! So I built a dam at the door. It keeps the water out really well, but it also keeps IN the water that seeps in through the sides and up through the floor and through the ceiling! So, now I have to buy a semi-permanent temporary garage that I'll put up in the driveway at the new place.

I did bugger all today. Took Bessie out for a drive round town, then went to visit my folks in Kirriemuir in Muj. It has been blowing a gale all day here, and I needed a V8 to overcome it Pete

continued on the 9 year saga of a full restoration on a 59 ute. drivetrain is in so today I got in the sound deadener panels, then the speedo, throttle and choke cables. Installed the throttle pedal. finished some more of the wiring and walked around it about a thousand times. finished restoring the heater and trying to install it but couldn't figure the inlet outlet hose configuration at the heater itself. I posted a question on this forum. please, if you know, answer so I can get it in tomorrow. Sunny here in California, although today a wee bit cold. Fished all day yesterday, or should I say I practised my casting as there were no fish for me. Thats it so far and I have one pint down.

Hey Scotb, sounds like you need to start on a new room. Over the weekend I felled a couple of large gum trees in my 'out of control tree patch', and cut them into rounds for firewood. Mostly tidied them up for splitting later. Pulled the thermostat out of the Merc to replace it with a higher-temperature one - its always run a bit cool on the gauge, and a new 'stat won't hurt. Took me two trips to the USA to get the right part. I need to change the oil & filter before the Beach Hop in a couple of weeks. T>

Went out on my first trip on the Bike yesterday - did around 60 miles, but it was colder than it looked and there is still salt on the roads. My brother has bought the property that was owned by the Davidson family (of Harley Davidson fame) in Aberlemno outside Forfar, so I visited him there. He is restoring the derelect cottage to original as a heritage site - plenty work. http://www.tayroots.com/ResearchYourRoots/AngusLives/HarleyDavidson.aspPete

I mot'd the wife's clio, then had a go at sorting out the Harley's front mudguard that I got blasted. The welding on the support brackets was terrible - but it's now in primer - after 3 hours of work.

Got the Merc back together and changed the oil. Also checked tires. I have to climb right into the boot (trunk!) to reach the spare. Also inspeced the rusty in the lower rear quarters. Might need attention soon, but will probably be OK for another year Cut down a couple more gum trees. My wife backed into a metal post and dented her car, not a Morris thankfully

*&^% that marina backplate looks like it's been manufactured with a angle grinder Good thing I'm only using to mark out the other plate.

Mostly working, and chainsawing. I work with some people in Seattle, and they went to Daylight Saving a couple of weeks ago, then had snow for the following couple of days. Hope to get some intercooler mounts done tonight. Balking at the cost of silicone intercooler piping

Quiet weekend out there eh?
Cut down 2 1/2 more big trees. One landed on a bridge across our drain and 'bent' it a bit (bridge is an old rusty truck chassis so no great loss)
Not much car stuff done. Did get the botom intercooler mounts made, and a couple of drives in the traveller though.
