If you are here in the States,I have one I would get rid of.It's nice and tight.I was going to use it on my project but I need a rack &pinion for a front steer.
I heard somewhere that you could take a rhd rack and flip it for lh.My question is,if you do that, will it turn in the right direction if you use a set of front steer spindles with it?
I had the Morris rack, lhs, mounted to a MustangII front end, that is front steer, not noticing the Morris is a rear steer,so when you turned the steering wheel to the right the tires went left,DUH.
Just to confirm that a pre 1968 Spridget Steering Rack is identical to the LHD Morris Minor - part number ACG 6010. A later verion BTA1096 was introduced for cars between 1968 and 1971 using a different pinion part number BTA1096. After this date they fitted a tRiumph Spitfire rack which required different mounting brackets; track rod ends and steering arms!
