Flippin' Couped

Bastardised Rating: 9

Spotted at the Surrey Street Rodders 25th Wheels Day (February 2000) in Surrey, England, this is a two-door saloon body that has been lowered onto a custom built chassis.

There's a one-piece flip-front hiding a Rover SD1 3500cc V8 with a Holley Carb, Ford Granada 3.0V6 front end and a Volvo 240 rear. The roof has been chopped by 5 inches and the rear window has been moved forward by about 12 inches to create that 'American Graffiti' look.

I think it may be a little low though - you can see the band-aid on the guards where the tyres have been rubbing/hitting!

Update - 22 Sep 2006
sold to Dominic in July 2006 and he has been working on it ever since. So far he's had to replace all the braking components, new exhaust, and a complete re-wire.

It's been though a few colour changes since I saw it last, from yellow to the Moggy sage green it is at the moment, however the interior is still yellow. As always, as funds allow, Dominic plans to get the whole thing resprayed, although just what colour has yet to be decided (white is out as there is to much mud up in Herefordshire!)
